The possibility of adding markers and waypoints in the inspection area and along the route is a ‘must-have’ for any USBL system installed on ROVs. The USBL system that Chasing can work with (today) is the Cerulean Locator MKII (a very basic underwater vehicle position locator system, incorporating the minimum / fundamental principles of USBL systems operation). It is possible to add and operate with waypoints ONLY if you operate this USBL system through a laptop connection (by use of the cerulean tracker application and the Cerulean maps to view and navigate the ROV position and to add some waypoints) but this again is very basic. You can’t however drop or manipulate waypoints and markers when you use this USBl with the Chasing Control Console app (Go1 running on the console) and the openstreet maps. Chasing should definitely work in providing this basic capability, which is essential for almost all underwater applications of an ROV, if they want to advertise the M2 Pro Max as an ‘industrial grade’ ROV.
Very good point and lets hope they will look into this, and quickly.
