I decided to buy myself a underwater drone a couple of months back. I’m a subsea engineer in the offshore industry, and always been interested in the underwater world. After reading up on articles and reviews day after day, I finally decided to buy myself a Chasing M2, with claw and 200m E-reel.
The day I received it, I went straight a head for a nearby plane wreck not far from where I stay. I’ll attach a unedited photo for those of you who might be interested. The plane itself is a Dornier DO 24 from WW2. Lying on about 30 meter / 100feet depth. Straight away I was really impressed with a capability and maneuverable being such a small and light drone.
Staying in Norway, we have a lot of algae and plankton in the sea. Because of this I got alot of reflection in the camera from the two lights. Because of this, I got a hold of some arms which makes the two light come futher away from the lens. This really made a difference.
As of today, I have done around 20 dives without any issue. Cant wait for the next one. Winter is coming, so I am very exited to see how the M2 will perform in the colder environment.
I would be interested in upgrading my M2 for a M2 Pro/ Pro Max in the near future. Then I would be able to test the system to even deeper environment.
