I’ve bought the control console a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately it’s a disaster to use this very expensive controller during the day with normal daylight. You can’t see anything on the screen except your own reflection. Also when you use the lens hood to block the sun.

So I’m working with my iPhone again, much better..

Anyone else who has this problem?

PREGOErik Sorry for the inconvenience you felt, we have reported this problem to our factory. And we will make the screen not only could be seen in the evening but also could be seen during the day. Thanks for your help to push us to improve the product quality.

We have the same problem, with poor screen performance under daylight conditions in general, with Erik. We are a company specializing in underwater underwater inspections/surveys and have bought the equipment (along with the M2 Pro Max ROV and a lot of accessories/sensors) for commercial use. The advertised brightness (1,000 nits) is a false, I would say misleading, statement as we possess other ROV control consoles and handheld controllers rated with same or even lower screen brightness which are actually usable under direct sunlight, not comparison whatsoever with this low performance monitor. If you add in the equation that the GPS sensor is embedded in the Console, in which case in order to have USBL functionality the Console should be be carried along by the user in clear sky and open environment, the overall operation is almost impossible with the CC. Wonder why we spend so much money for this procurement.

What is Chasing going to do to upgrade this product and how will the users already bought this low quality monitor, for a high price, are going to benefit form any renewal?

BMCONSULT Maybe you can try the adjustment button at the bottom of the screen, which is the same as the computer display. You can adjust the screen brightness to get a better viewing effect.

Thank you James, for the prompt response. We have tried every possible parameter adjustment on the console or the Android app but the screen at full brightness is impossible to be viewed in daylight conditions, not to mention direct sunlight exposure. It’s just a matter of panel quality/ability, this is not a 1,000nits panel. We have control consoles and controllers (from other ROV makers, don’t want to advertise the brands here) that are rated 800- 1000 nits and they are actually visible under direct sunlight conditions. The Chasing CC screen does not actually implement a 1,000 nits capable display.

I just purchased this product. Agree the biggest let down is the screen/tablet.

Mine glitches and goes to a black screen after about 30 seconds. At this stage its the biggest waste of money ($4500aud)

It looks nice, but that’s about it.

no wifi, poor screen brightness, reflective screen and poor internal processor.

Is the screen something we can upgrade ourselves? Surely it’s just a cheap tablet. Maybe we can put a Samsung or something in there instead.

this is something we looking into as well (replacing the tablet screen with one that will have more descent performance), maybe chasing reading this post can ask their engineers and provide an answer?
